Gomukhasan (Cow’s Head Pose)

Procedure
  • Come into Dhyan Veerasan with the right thigh exactly over the left thigh.
  • Comfortably take your left hand behind the back, from under the left armpit, and place it between the shoulder blades; simultaneously bring the right arm precisely over the right shoulder.
  • Anchor your fingers of the left and right hands tightly, and place the back of your head against the right elbow.
  • Make sure your trunk stays erect and the head tilted slightly backward.
  • Hold this position for as long as comfortable with normal breathing.
  • Slowly, release your hands and come back to Dhyan Veerasan.
  • Repeat on the other side.
  • Finally, let go of the legs; come into Shithil Dandasan and relax.
Awareness
  • On the stretches and strains of the shoulders and arms
  • On feeling the presence of “Radhey Krishna” both—in your breaths and everywhere
Benefits
